STE Music Bursary

The objective of the bursary is to make STE music program more accessible to families in the Edmonton and surrounding area and to provide financial assistance to qualified STE members to cover the costs for group and individual music lessons, or instrument rentals.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the bursary students must:

  • Have registered in a private music lesson with STE music instructor.
  • Have paid the 2024/25 STE Membership Fee.
  • Demonstrated financial needs.
  • Consistent attendance at both group and individual music lessons

How to Apply:
Submit the following to admin@ste-suzukistrings.org:

  • application form
  • a motivational letter or video,
  • proof of financial needs
  • optional recommendation letter

Bursary Recipients Selection:

  • The Bursary Program will run from September 2024 to June 2025.
  • Applications will be accepted between May 17 and June 16, 2024.
  • Selection Committee will determine eligibility and award the appropriate type of bursary. The bursary amount may vary from applicant to applicant, depending on the amount of funds available for the bursary program.
  • Selection Committee will be composed of as least one teacher, one parent, and one STE Board member.
  • Selection Committee will be provided with a synopsis of the applicants. Names of parents and students will not be revealed to the selection committee.
  • Applicants will be notified by August 31, 2024.

Society for Talent Education is a registered not-for-profit organization and all contributions to the bursary program are tax-deductible. An official receipt will be provided to donors.
