Congratulations on Year End Concert!

On Monday we held our annual Year End Concert. The concert is named after Betty Parker Jervis who was a long serving member of the board of the Society for Talent Education, and was at the helm of STE as the organization grew from a small local string program to the a large program recognized nationally and internationally. Under her leadership STE hosted an International Suzuki Conference and hosted Dr. and Mrs. Suzuki as well as teachers and students from around the world.

We’ve heard some outstanding playing! From the beginners mastering the Twinkle Variations and Tonalization to Minsky’s Train Whistle by seniors cellos. Our intermediate groups engaged in ensemble playing in Dona Nobis Pacem Canon and Celtic Lament and other pieces.

A special treat was our orchestra under the baton of Sheryl Bowhay that played selections from the real-world augmented reality mobile game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite!

We are very proud of our chamber groups who acquired valuable skills of music making. Next year we are going to continue to offer Chamber Music Program, stay tuned for deadline to register, limited spots available.

The concert finished with creative Conrad Sobieraj’s “Among Us” improvisation play in! We heard all the instruments improvising, including teachers Ted Tessier and Michael Hunter!

Congratulations and see you in September!
